Every year Jo Harding organises a series of poetry readings

The Pennine Lancashire Poetry Stanza have given a series of readings in the area. The first three were in the Preston area and the fourth at Molly's in Clitheroe. Following their success at the Lancaster Lit Fest in October 2009, they are not to be missed.

The readings in 2009 season were in the newly refurbished Clitheroe Castle and included Peter Street, Chrissie Gittings and Cynthia Kitchen. Admission was free.

The 2008 season consisted mostly of readings by local poets: Elizabeth Burns, Carol Coates amongst others. Matthew Welton also read (actually he didn't read but recited from memory) in his very different style. In 2007 the 6 readings were given by Michael Symmons Roberts, Jacob Polley, Julian Turner, Mike Barlow and Jane Routh, 5 local writers and Sean O'Brien. In 2006 the readers were 6 female poets all published by Bloodaxe

If you are interested any of the events either as listener or participator please contact Jo Harding  info@clitheroebooks.co.uk
